About Panda Express
Panda Express, located at 4021 Grand Ave Ste D, Chino, CA 91710, is a prominent fast-food chain specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Established as a fast-casual offshoot of the original Panda Inn restaurants, Panda Express has grown into a widely recognized brand known for delivering quick, flavorful Chinese-inspired dishes with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. The restaurant offers a variety of menu options, including some health-conscious choices, catering to a broad range of tastes and dietary preferences. Customers can reach the Chino location by phone at +1 909-313-2092.
The origins of Panda Express trace back to 1973 when Andrew and Peggy Cherng, along with Andrewβs father, Master Chef Ming-Tsai Cherng, opened Panda Inn in Pasadena, California. The Cherng family brought authentic culinary expertise from their roots in Yangzhou, China, blending traditional Mandarin and Sichuan flavors with adaptations suited to American palates. This fusion laid the groundwork for what would become Panda Express. In 1983, leveraging a partnership with real estate developers connected to the Glendale Galleria mall, the Cherngs launched the first Panda Express as a fast-food concept designed to bring Chinese cuisine to a wider audience in a convenient, accessible format[1][2][5].
Panda Express distinguished itself early on by embracing technology and data-driven management practices. Peggy Cherngβs background in engineering and software design helped the company implement advanced operating systems that ensured consistent food quality and efficient service. This tech-forward approach, combined with a commitment to wellness and employee training, contributed to the chainβs rapid expansion and enduring popularity[1][4][7].
The menu at Panda Express features iconic dishes such as Orange Chicken, which was reportedly developed by Chef Andy Kao at a Hawaii location in 1987. The restaurant also serves classics like moo shu pork and a popular βthree ingredient tasteβ dish combining chicken, beef, and pork. While Panda Express is not strictly authentic Chinese cuisine, it represents a successful American Chinese culinary tradition that appeals to diverse customers by balancing familiar flavors with a fast-food model[1][2][5].
Over the decades, Panda Express has evolved from primarily mall-based food court outlets to predominantly freestanding restaurants, with less than 2% of locations still inside malls. The brand has expanded internationally, with locations in countries such as Canada, Mexico, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. The company also engages in philanthropic efforts through Panda Cares, supporting health and education initiatives for underserved communities[5][6].
The Chino, California location of Panda Express continues this legacy by providing fast, flavorful Chinese food with an emphasis on quality and customer service. The restaurantβs convenient location and diverse menu options make it a popular choice for those seeking quick meals that include both traditional favorites and health-conscious alternatives. Panda Express remains a family-owned business, maintaining the values and vision established by the Cherng family over 40 years ago, and continues to be a leader in the fast-food Chinese restaurant category[3][6].

Whatever you do don't come here during the day. They prioritize phone and online orders. If you are a walk in they will ignore you throughout. You also feel like you are in a subway in NW so don't plan on getting rest.

Very disappointed at Panda Express. The noodles were all broken and it was mostly cabbage, almost like leftover scraps from the bottom of the pan. Honestly, this was the worst meal Iβve ever had from Panda Express. I only picked out a little for my child to eat and ended up throwing the rest away.

Very quick & friendly service. The restaurant was extremely clean and my online order was ready early. In addition to a good amount of inside seating there is an outside courtyard with fountain. Lots of tables with umbrellas & a Starbucks nearby as well. I would absolutely recommend to stop by only bummer is parking can be a challenge sometimes.

I didn't personally enjoy the Beijing Beef, which is made with sweet and sour sauce. Regardless, it was still high quality, along with the rest of the food. Kenni took my order and answered my questions perfectly, and the restaurant, along with the bathroom, was clean.
